"Run With Me" 18 x 24
Dark silhouettes lurking
Among intoxicating red poppies:
Are they shadows or illusions?
Supple swaying dancers
Heed the music of the wind
Under klieg of summer sun.
Shall we run there; or stay awhile, sway with them and sleep?

I love this!
ReplyDeleteLove the motion and the dance! Beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteEither way, you can't go wrong.
ReplyDeleteWe should stay awhile...

Hahha. It would be very hard to resist despite shadows.
ReplyDeleteThere is a stark contrast between the poppies and those shadows.. love how you put the danger into the fields.
ReplyDeleteA mysterious element added to the fields. Really want t ogo and see what are those shadows.
ReplyDeleteIt is a most inviting scene.
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the image, and also some vivid visuals wrapped up here, especially the last two stanzas.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I vote to, "sway and sleep"
ReplyDeleteI would love to run through a field like that--so that would be my vote! Let's go...
ReplyDelete"Heed the music of the wind
ReplyDeleteUnder klieg of summer sun." I. Love. That.
Love how you wrote movement...I can feel the dance.
ReplyDeleteI had to look up "klieg"--thanks for that....I love learning new words :-)
