Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem #198, The Hanged Man (XII) Tarot

In ancient times, people worshiped gods of violence: Mars, Baal,
and Odin - who hung upside down for nine days .

They pillaged and converted, or were converted,

at the point of a sword.

Then Jesus came along preaching his message

of peace, love, and tolerance.

Look across the great span of history and see how his sacrifice

changed man's behavior.

Not so much.

sacrifice symbol
holy man suspended
but people still sin

~ 2 ~

blessed androgyne
your symbolic message
hangs in the balance

~ 3 ~

ego can take us
where all life is upside down
pride goes with the fall

Carpe Diem #198

  1. What a wonderful trio of haiku JzB, just awesome as you have used the post of The Hanged Man (XII) thank you for sharing these with us.

  2. No Moose? No Goose? Did you turn them loose?

  3. M and G didn't want to hang around today.

  4. Very true JzB :)

  5. you seem quite serious today....your post, thought-provoking ..... and well-written, as usual...

  6. your haiku set made me reflect. well done :)

  7. I'm not proud (at least, I don't think I am), but I seem to be falling anyway. What's the matter with me?

    The Hanged Man

  8. I share that sentiment 100%... have anything been understood?

  9. Second and third are brilliant, in my opinion.
