The Lighter Side of JzB

Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem #232, Semi (Cicada)

~ 1 ~

cicada's sad song
brings no comfort to children
summer's almost done

~ 2 ~

at sunset
i hear the cicada's song
find an empty husk

~ 3 ~

buzzing reminder
goose considers migration
moose thinks solitude

~ 4 ~

cicada's song
no comfort for orb weaver
just an empty husk

~ 5 ~

split-back husk
cicada outgrows it
and then moves along

~ 6 ~
bold crescendo
cacophonous orchestra
plays bug symphony

Carpe Diem #232

  1. cicada's shrill...
    an orb weaver drops
    a web stitch

  2. I think I'd take a vacation from the forest too during cicada season. Have fun moose and goose!

  3. It's a symphony all right but it can be deafening! Great take

  4. Beautifully done. The first and last ones are super

  5. Great take.. love the second one.

  6. love falling asleep to that orchestra....

  7. I'm with Moose: I choose solitude.

After hearing the cicada's song, and finding the empty husk, some people would seek a full flask!

  8. So summery and I can feel the screscendo, JZB. Enjoyed them all, though the most drawn to the second one.

This is a fun blog. Light-hearted banter is welcome. Snark is not. If you want to fight, find my other blog.

Play nice, and we'll all have fun.
