Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem Special #41, Kikusha-Ni's 'lost in the woods'.


Inspirational haiku by Kikusha-Ni.

lost in the woods
only the sound of a leaf
falling on my hat


I get a variety of feelings from this haiku, not all consistent with each other: foreboding, hope, oneness with nature, isolation from nature, new beginning, possibly even end of life.

beyond the arching boughs
storm clouds gather

alone in the woods
old man finds a fallen branch
new walking stick

in the deep still woods
even moose and goose
remain silent

alone but not lost
in the depth of the woods
spider spins her home

    I agree! This poem suggested all of the emotions you describe - like a good haiku often does! Your responses are spot on! Every one - although, the first is my favorite!

    I like them all! I seem to be very fond of moose and goose but tough to pick favorite because they all affect me in a different way. Nicely done!
