The Lighter Side of JzB

Here you will find photos, poetry, and possibly some light-hearted foolishness. For the Heavier Side

Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem #105 -- EYES

When I look at you
I see the love that we share
When you look at me

~  ~  ~  ~  ~

Eyes can be windows
Peering into someone's soul
They can be mirrors

~  ~

Eyes can be weapons
Piercing like spears; or caress
With a velvet touch

~  ~  ~  ~  ~

Eyes can be faucets
Giving release to sorrow
Water for the dead

~  ~

Great grandmother's eyes
They once sparkled with her love
Now closed forever

~  ~  ~  ~  ~

  1. windows...mirrors..spears...velvet..and faucets..and reflections of have captured "eyes" very well :)

  2. Unfortunately, I am well acquainted with eyes as weapons!

  3. Yeah - I've been stabbed a few times myself.

  4. What a wonderful set. 'They can also be mirrors' - how true.
    Thank you :)

  5. I was reminded of how my mother would send 'darts' across the room with her eyes, and I heard her clearly!

  6. These are each a little gem throwing light on the wonderful gift we call our eyes! I laughed when I got to the piercing verse, having just come from Lolly's place where she referred to that look as the 'stinkeye' known to all misbehaving children!! Thanks for sharing!!

  7. Wonderful compositions, I especially like the weapon one.

  8. Beautifully crafted, JzB - every single one of them! And I kept returning to the first one after enjoying all...

  9. Wow - such nice comments.

    Thanks, all of you.
