Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem #86 - Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle
Photo by Bill Ward found here

I had to do a little reading on the Honeysuckle, a flower I know in name only.

HONEYSUCKLE

Some delicate types
Won't grow in the temperate zone
They're subtropical

~  ~  ~  ~  ~

Sweet smelling blossoms
Decorate the green garden
Bringing hummingbirds

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Trumpet shaped flowers
Fill the air with your beauty
Play me a love song

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

What better place
To explore love's allure than
In honeysuckle

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

That sweet aroma
Of honeysuckle lingers
Gives away my tryst

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Dragonflies prefer
Honeysuckle nectar in
Their buttercup tea

  1. Lovely, this one surpasses the rest:
    Trumpet shaped flowers
Fill the air with your beauty
    Play me a love song.

The first one could be in a Plant Encyclopaedia...
    :)

  2. But so few plant encyclopedias are written in verse . . .

    Cheers!

  3. What a delightful variety on the prompt!! Thank you for sharing -- your "investigation" produced creativity. AND, I certainly am tickled by the haiku you left for me. :)

Play nice, and we'll all have fun.

I like to return visit, when I can - but I need to find you. If you have multiple blogs, please leave a direct link to the appropriate post.

Cheers!
