Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem #116 - FADO

Fateful sailor's song
Of his saudade and woe
Sting of salt water

~ : ~

Sad song of longing
All things flow to the ocean
Rest there in the depths

~ : ~

When I lost my love
I took my boat out to sea
Drowned there in my tears

~ : ~

Fado guitar strings
Plucked like the strings of my heart
Then I lost them all

~ : ~ : ~ : ~

Song of lost antlers
When the sea drowns the forest
The goose will not fly

~ : ~

When moose sings fado
Then the elk stares in wonder
Goose plucks the guitar

 ~ : ~ : ~ : ~

  1. I totally enjoy all of your work....you are very talented....Personally I feel posting so many great haiku detracts from their impact....

  3. I should add that I am most thankful that the guitar is not plucking the goose!

You are most kind. I just post what spills out. If the emotional effect is diluted, I'll have to live with that.

Sting of salt water is the line I worked and reworked. Yes, the 3rd touched me the most also. Fortunately, it is not a scene from my own life.

Take a gander at that! And the goose is specifically there for your edification and/or amusement.

    Cheers!

  13. Your first haiku brought tears to my eyes, but I was saved by the giggle of the moose and the goose :-)
