Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem Writing Techniques #6

These concepts are not easily definable.
Nor can I explain or justify why I think these senryu succeed.

  2. The first one is crushing, and the second....well, it may have that moose humour, but it is a beautiful haiku about nature.

  3. Both have a loss or symbol of life moving on...beautifully penned.

  4. Is it true that spiders eat their webs? If so, it's one of those little tidbits of information that I've somehow missed all these years.

    1. Not all spiders
      orb weavers
      at least certain species
spin a new web each day
consume the old one at night

      cheers
