Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem #151, Haru Fukashi (deep Spring)

Oh my.  As I write this, it is 34 degrees, overcast, and a very light snow is falling.  Not exactly deep winter, but far from deep spring, so I will have to resort to wishing and hoping.

~ 1 ~

walk with me my love
the day's warmth a reminder
of how dear you are

~ 2 ~

crocuses give way
to tulips in deep spring
roses are coming

~ 3 ~

in the depth of spring
old man basks in the bright sun
warms his weary bones

in deep spring
moose and goose frolic
in a shallow spring

some spider hatchlings
in the depth of spring

Carpe Diem #151

  1. in the last, darkness in the light of it....and the old man's weary bones...I can relate

  2. Ahhh, I've been thinking about that type of spring too :)

  3. ew to the spider. Thought the first one you were adding a deer ;-) Like moose and goose frolicking.

  4. "Mother, what's for breakfast?"

    "I am, my dears."

"You mean you want us to eat you?"

    "Yes, darlings."

"But, Mother, we shall miss you!"

"Easy come, easy go, darlings. Now, start munching!"

    Deepening Spring

  5. Nice series JzB. It's always a joy to read your posts.

  6. You have painted a very colourful picture of so many different spring moments...enjoyed them all but my favourite is the third one. :)

  7. Oh JzB these are delicious
    a smorgasbord of spring delicacies
    except for the orb brunch!
    And that is just plain

  8. Was enjoying the post til the last set...
then was laughing and wondering why I can't think like that ... hilarious and wonderful.
    Enjoyed all.

  9. aloha JzB - i like the way the crocus ku is working here. that movement from one flowering time to the next. cool.
