Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

Carpe Diem Imagination #4, Weeping Cherry

Today, Krisjaan inspires us with a picture
Weeping Cherry

~ 1 ~

pink blossom cascade
trunk all in gnarly knots
weeping cherry

~ 2 ~

from the drooping branches
a windborn sweep of petals
shower of pink tears

~ 3 ~

ask not
for whom the cherry weeps
it weeps for thee

~ 4 ~

moose and goose pause
beneath the weeping cherry
exchange knowing looks

~ 5 ~

old man pauses
beneath the weeping cherry
sheds a silent tear

~ 6 ~

in drooping branches
spider spins her lethal trap
she weeps for no one

Carpe Diem Imagination #4

  1. I too feel like crying when my trunk get gnarly and my branches droop...

  2. joanne -

I had never thought of it that way.

But I do understand your point.

  3. Oh my! Moose and Goose are at it again! More power to them!!

  4. Love the first, but as always you've served up a smorgasbord of delights :)

  5. Oh, I'm sure Spider weeps for herself when she finds her lethal trap empty!

    Hazy Way Haiku

  6. each and every one of your haiku are so amazing! I really coudn't choose one over the other! I think this is my favorite set from all I've read on your blog! Such intensity from normality... LOVED them!

  7. Wonderful to think the cherry tree weeps for me... But I need a cheery tree...

  8. Beautiful weave of a haiku-web! I ejnoyed each and every one of these pearls.
