Every day visits*
From Moose, Goose, and Orb Weaver
All seized by Haiku

"Why moose and goose?" you may ask. Back on 2/04/13 Pirate wrote a haiku with an elk in it, and I responded with
one with a moose and then included him every day. A few days later in comments Mystic asked "Where's the goose?"
So I started including her with this post on 2/07. A week later on the 14th, Mark Readfern
asked for and received a spider. The rest is history.

*Well, most days, anyway. Grant me a bit of poetic license.

The Sunday Whirl

~ : ~

in the desert
bent by the unbroken wind
a single gnarled tree

~ : ~

in the desert
country music is sung by
the wayward wind

~ : ~

in the desert
is a mirage a trick
of the eye or mind

~ : ~

in the desert
coyote travels disguised
but wolf does not

~ : ~

in the desert
an ever-shifting dunescape
wound by the wind

~ : ~

in the desert
like yesterday and today
all days bleached and sere

~ : ~

in the desert
old bones lie forgotten
bleached by the sun

~ : ~

in the desert
follow fox and not coyote
for the way across

~ : ~

in the desert
cacti live for decades
no need to hurry

~ : ~

in the desert
beneath a broken glass jar
spider spins her web

~ : ~

in the desert
if you wait long enough
all things turn to sand

~ : ~

in the desert
amid cactus and primrose
my cold heart is stirred

  2. A lovely collection. I very much enjoy the way you have chosen to link and include the wordle words in 3-line stanzas. Your use of repetition is powerful. Very effective!

  4. The only things missing from your desert are Moose and Goose! :)

This is a fun blog. Light-hearted banter is welcome. Snark is not. If you want to fight, find my other blog.

Play nice, and we'll all have fun.

I like to return visit, when I can - but I need to find you. If you have multiple blogs, please leave a direct link to the appropriate post.

Cheers!
