My yard -- May, 2011
I first posted this picture on 5/15/11, accompanied by this quasi-haiku
These cute little blonds
Stand out against the green grass,
So -- OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!
Now, on to today's efforts
~ 1 ~
king of the lawn
decked out in its yellow mane
a dandy lion
~ 2 ~
a noxious weed
or for the open-minded
wine and a salad
~ 3 ~
just like the old man
when dandelion ages
its head turns white
~ 4 ~
for moose and goose
a field of bright dandelions
tasty smörgåsbord
~ 5 ~
spider hatchling
and a dandelion seed
two kites in the wind

old man's hair turns white...and floats away in the wind :)
ReplyDeleteWow JzB, another wonderful series of haiku. That third one is a masterpiece, I can feel that imagery you paint in that one, because I am starting to become grey myself.
ReplyDeleteDear spider hatchling, come my way. Dear dandelion seed: Stay Away!
ReplyDeleteDandelion’s Fortitude
yes, the similarity of being tethered, yet affected so by the wind - liked that last one a lot...and the others, well, they were wonderfully written too, with a wit that is yours alone...
ReplyDeleteThe third one is a masterpiece, and the rest of them are almost as good. On of your best set I have seen.
ReplyDeletegreat set! loved the last one - a beautiful ending!
ReplyDeleteI loved each and ever one today! I am getting to br very fond of moose, goose and orb weaver!
ReplyDeleteOrb weaver wins for me! Lovely to read about dandy lions :)
ReplyDeleteOOH, love the kits in the wind and the fact that you also decapitated your dandelions as did I :)
ReplyDeleteI can't help but wonder what would happen if you blew on an old man's head the same way you blow on dandelion fluff...
